NSCN (IM) calls for united fight against COVID-19

Dimapur, April 7: The NSCN (IM) has called for jointly fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in solidarity with the rest of the word leaving aside petty politics.
While acknowledging that Nagaland till now has not tested any single person positive, it said there is no chance for laxity but to stand by the lockdown rules.
“The fight against Covid-19 is going on in warlike manner all over India. There is no other option lest we open the door for the contagious virus to play hell among us.
“This calls for leaving aside playing petty politics but jointly fight with “one voice one action” in solidarity with the rest of the world,” it said in a statement.
Stating that doctors, nurses and medical personnel are going through horrendous time, leading from the front putting their lives at heavy risk, the NSCN said they are the brave real fighters living up to their medical ethics that patients are the priority. “May God give them the strength- physically and spiritually, to carry on their profession un-hindered!”
Notwithstanding the hardships in the face of the lockdown, the fight against the coronavirus must continue vigorously till we are free from the danger, it said and called upon all to stand in solidarity with the Government order to obey the guided preventive measures being updated every now and then.
“We should be prepared for the worst, depending on the situation even after the ongoing lockdown period is over because it is a matter of life and death. But, above everything let us renew our faith in God and fight the good fight with Him as our sustainer and protector,” it added. (Page News Service)
