Dimapur, May 29: The annual meeting of the Nagaland State Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was held on May 25 at Hotel Seb Tower, Dimapur.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, the meeting thoroughly deliberated particularly with regard to adoption and implementation of Govt ITI’s by CII members under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and the ongoing review of Nagaland Industrial policy by the Department of Industries & Commerce.
The CII have been pursuing to organize North East Entrepreneurs summit cum Exhibition at Dimapur in association with DoNER and NEDFi. In this regard, it was resolved once again to mobilize funding agencies to organize the event at the earliest.
The members present have agreed collectively to approach genuine entrepreneurs and induct 20 new members during 2018-19.
The e-way bill is seen as an anti-tax evasion feature under Goods and Service Tax. This is anticipated to give a clearer picture of value of goods transported, thereby bringing all informal transactions under the umbrella of the formal economy. With the national e-way bill system compulsory for intra-state movement of goods from June1, 2018, the CII Nagaland Branch resolved to organize a workshop on “e Way Bill” at Dimapur on June 23.
With the expiry of the tenure, the members unanimously elected C Merenla, MD, Fine Windows Company as the Chair of CII Nagaland State Council for 2018-19. The members expressed utmost appreciation to outgoing Chairman, Neichute Doulo for his selfless contribution towards the growth of CII in particular and business community in general.
