Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19: The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) and NPCC Minority Department, with support from all Congress frontal organizations and DDCC, will hold a dharna at PWD Junction, Dimapur, on November 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in protest against irregular and very bad power supply as the citizens of Nagaland have been suffering untold misery on account of erratic power supply and frequent power cuts.

The NPCC Minority Department said normal business activities are disrupted leading to low productivity while the need for investment in alternative power supply has heavily increased. Even the households too suffer hugely from frequent power cuts, which results to damage of many electrical and electronic items that burden the expenditure cost in repairing, etc., despite limited income sources and huge inflation, it added.
After the protest, a memorandum would be submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur.
The Minority Department further announced that they would also organize Jan Jagran Pad Yatra Abhiyan against sky rocketing price hike on essential commodities and massive inflation.
It may be mentioned that NPCC Minority Department and Dimapur District Congress Committee together, with support from all Congress frontal organisation, held a protest for the deplorable road conditions of a National Highway from Dillai Gate – PWD Road – Midland – Dhobinala – GS Road – Station Road – Hotel Tragopan Junction on October 25 last as part of Phase I protest which compelled the State Government to act on it.
