Kohima, May 21: Marking the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rahiv Gandhi, the Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) today distributed face masks to people in the streets of Kohima.
The free face mask distribution during this COVID-19 pandemic period was done in honour and respect of the Late Gandh,i with a view to create awareness among the general public on the use of mask to fight the virus, said Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) general secretary and former MLA Supongmeren Jamir.
He said that NPCC president K Therie has directed all Congress party members in every district to be vigilant and come forward to assist the needy people, and extend support to the district administration.
Newly appointed NPYC president Limayangba Lemtur, along with his officials, distributed the masks in the main town area and also masks to traffic personnel at Old MLA Hostel junction.
