‘NPP will bring change in Kohima Municipality’

KOHIMA, JUNE 10: National Peoples’ Party (NPP) MLA from 9-Kohima Town Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso today affirmed that given the opportunity the party would bring several changes including development and progress in the Kohima municipality.
He was speaking at the Kohima Municipal Council election campaign kick-off programme of NPP candidate Kekhrieletuo Belho for Ward. No. 6 D’Block at its Panchayat Hall here.
Remarking that the capital municipality needs proper water supply and healthcare facilities, Dr Ato as the local MLA said he has identified a water source for supply of drinking water within Kohima town but it is being delayed for some unresolved issues. However, he expressed hope that it would be resolved soon.
He also assured that if NPP is given the opportunity to lead the KMC, efforts would be made to provide better healthcare facilities within the municipal wards.
In this, he appealed to the denizens of the KMC wards where NPP is fielding its candidates to vote for them.
Dr Ato was also appreciative of his candidate Belho saying that he represents the downtrodden and would work for their upliftment.
“Make him the common peoples’ candidate and we will work together for the common welfare”, Dr Ato assured.
In his speech, Kekhrieletuo Belho assured that given the opportunity, he would work hard and give his best for the people of Ward 6 which has a conglomeration of mixed communities including Nagas and non-Nagas. He also thanked Dr Ato for giving him the NPP ticket.
Short speeches were also delivered by Kekrusonuo Sophie, Peteneilhou Mechülho, Ruokuovilhou (GB) and other colony denizens.
Chaired by ex-Panchayat Chairman Akhou Sophi, the programme commenced with prayer by Asanuo Vizo while the welcome address was delivered by Keneingulie and Neisavotuo Whourie tendered the vote of thanks.
