Dimapur, February 1: The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has endorsed the absolute stand of its National President and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
In a press release, the NPP stated that the identity and rights of the people of the Northeast is central to the vision and political aspiration of the NPP and as such the party is totally against any factor intent on de-stabilizing the demographics and its regressive impact on land resources and debilitating effect on the socio-economic equation in the region.
It also stated that it would continue to extend its support to fight against the CAB in Nagaland and continue its solidarity with people of the Northeast at this crucial juncture. The party also acknowledged the PDA Cabinet resolution in outrightly rejecting the CAB.
