Dimapur, March 16: As COVID-19 spreads across the world, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has sought divine intervention to save Nagaland form the coronavirus pandemic.
“The NPF also called upon the citizens not to remain fear but appeal every Naga believers to uphold one another in prayers so that Almighty God will save us from the pandemic Covid-19,” said a release issued by the Press Bureau, NPF.
Appreciating the Government of the day for taking up its effort for preventive measures in the State, the party felt that more and stringent effort is required to check and ensure that not a single case of Covid-19 is reported from the State.
The party also appealed to the State Government to install a Covid-19 test centre in Nagaland as Guwahati test centre is the only nearest centre available for Nagaland state, which is difficult for the State to avail for its distance and other reasons.
The NPF also pointed out that Dimapur Railway station should minutely be monitored as thousands of visitors travel every day and hundreds of people are coming to Nagaland through the station, which is very vulnerable.
The party further urged the Government to check the supply and availability of face mask and hand sanitizer “as it is reported that the price of the two items has skyrocketed.”
It called upon the State Government to give its best effort to educate the people even in the remotest areas about the safety measures and expressed hope that the Government is well equipped with all modern technologies. (Page News Service)
