Dimapur, September 30: The NPF Minority Wing on Wednesday organised an ‘awareness programme cum free mask/sanitizer/PPE kits distribution’ drive with the motto “let’s defeat novel coronavirus unitedly” under the leadership of its Central Incharge Dr. Amos Lkr.
As part of the programme, the wing distributed masks, hand sanitizers, gloves, soaps, PPEs etc. among the citizens at different locations in Dimapur and made people aware of the threats of the virus and the measures to stay safe. The programme, which started at around 9 am at Super Market continued till 5 pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Minority Wing Central President Bishnu Bhattacharjee said that the virus is going to stay here for some time as the vaccine is still awaited and therefore everyone must follow the safety protocols and maintain physical distancing in the markets and during the day to day activities and added that the virus can be kept at bay if everyone works together.
He also made the attendants aware of the safe disposals of the masks and other safety kits and urged that instead of spreading stigma people should be kind to each other during this difficult time. In his speech he thanked the administration and all the ranks and files of the party for extending their cooperation to reach out to the people.
Besides Bhattacharjee, Vice President of NPF Dimapur Division Tongzuk, President of Women Wing Vepranulu, Working President of Minority Wing Central Mukibur Rahman, GS of Minority Wing Central Shiva Kumar BK, President of Minority Wing Dimapur Division Shahid Barbhuiya and Vice President of Minority Wing Central Apun Naben spoke on the occasion.
Officials from NPF Central, Youth wing, Women Wing, NPF Dimapur Division also participated in the awareness programme.
The programme was chaired by Women Coordinator of Minority Wing Puja Das Paul and Wangshikokla Jamir, GS Women Wing Central, had said the invocation prayer.
