NPF fooling Naga people without agenda, says NDPP

Kohima, May 25: The ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today criticized the opposition Naga People’s Front (NPF) of continuing to fool the Naga people without having any specific agenda.
“The NSF leaders are does not have any welfare agenda and being confused themselves they are trying to confuse the Naga people,” said Prasielie Pienyu, Chief Agent to NDPP candidate, Tokheho Yepthomi while addressing NDPPPDA closing campaign rally at High School junction here.
Pienyu said that the PDA government which is just two months old is moving ahead fulfilling its election promises by releasing the VDB fund for the last two years and also improving the district headquarter road.
PDA government is for the welfare of the people, he said while accusing that after the defeat in the state assembly election NPF which earlier had its symbol as ‘Cock’ has now turned into ‘broiler’.
He said that NPF accusing NDPP-led PDA on various counts, including religious lines, is because NPF is left without agenda and also does not have any welfare policy for the people and therefore it is trying to confuse the Naga people.
PDA is confident of Yepthomi’s win in the bye-poll, but we appeal the electorates to give him a major so that Prime Minister Modi’s development programme can reach the people of the State.
NDPP ex-candidate for 10 Northern Angami-I, Dr Kekhrie Yhome tried to induce the people by saying that anybody is free to point out their problems in the general interest, which would be seriously looked into by the PDA government.
Affirming that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is a man of action, he said that the NDPP-led PDA government will sincerely work for the welfare of the people.
Terming opposition NPF candidate Apok Jamir having been ‘born with a golden spoon’ and that he would not understand the problems of the people, Yhome however said the NDPP nominee Yepthomi has rose up to the status with his grassroots level experience.
He therefore urged the electorates to conscientiously cast their vote in favour of Yepthomi for the benefit of the Nagas in general. He also criticized NPF by calling it ‘Naga Pagala Farm’.
BJP Kohima district president Khrielie Üsuo and NDPP Kohima region president Avio Tetso also addressed the gathering while special numbers were presented by Dziesekhrieno Keretsü and Virie Solo. (Page News Service)
