Dimapur, May 31: NPF Legislature Party today congratulated Tokheho Yepthomi, NDPP candidate for winning the Lok Sabha bye-election and hoped that he would fulfill the expectations of the electorate who supported him.
It also conveyed gratitude to the electorates of Nagaland for extending their support and voting in favor of NPF Candidate, C Apok Jamir during the Lok Sabha bye-election held on May 28.
The NPF recognized the fact that genuine voters in the State, though lesser in number, had voted for NPF Candidate in the Lok Sabha bye-elections despite unprecedented proxy-voting and booth-capturing by the PDA Alliance which had rocketed the overall voting percentage despite low voters turn-out.
It appreciated all the rank and file of the Naga Peoples’ Front for the selfless service and sacrifice rendered towards the successful conduct of the bye-elections in the State.
Meanwhile, it reiterated that final settlement of the Indo-Naga Political issue would continue to be its top-most priority and the same would be manifested and pursued by the Naga Peoples’ front with utmost sincerity and commitment, until the matter is brought to its logical conclusion.
While condemning in the strongest term current Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio’s pseudo-theory that the NPF Party is divided into 3 groups, the NPF Legislature Party reiterated and declared that the Naga Peoples’ Front remains united under the dynamic leadership of T R Zeliang, Leader of the NPF Legislature Party and Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, President of the Naga Peoples’ Front.
