Dimapur, March 8: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed deep concern over the unrest taking place in Myanmar ever since the military junta took over the Government by overwhelming the democratically elected Government.
“It is unfortunate that so many innocent people have lost their life in course of the protest against the Military rule. The NPF as a political party believes in democratic values either in the form of expression of opinion or peaceful protest against the tyrannical governance. The party strongly feels that in any civilized world, the freedom of expression and peaceful protest should not be encountered with brute force,” it said in a communiqué.
Meanwhile, the NPF extended solidarity with the Nagas living in Myanmar and assured its fullest support in their struggle for democracy and just peace.
The party also hoped that good sense will prevail amongst the military junta leadership and peaceful atmosphere would reign without losing any more innocent life. (Page News Service)
