NPCC protest

DIMAPUR, JULY 8: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Saturday staged a silent protest (Maun Satyagraha) at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, to express disapproval of what it claimed was crooked measures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP that resulted in Rahul Gandhi’s conviction and disqualification from Lok Sabha.
In a press release, the NPCC stated that the entire world had seen how Rahul Gandhi consistently ‘questioned and exposed’ the relationship between Modi and Gautam Adani, the billionaire industrialist.
“His courageous pursuit has forced the Prime Minister and BJP to resort to crooked measures leading to his conviction and disqualification from the membership of Lok Sabha.
“In spite of all these hardships, Rahul Gandhi has been consistent in his unstoppable fight against the misuse of power by Modi, and in fighting for the truth and raising the issues concerning the people of the country”, it stated.
The NPCC went on to state that not only Congress party but the entire nation has condemned the “erroneous conviction and disqualification” and resolved to stand by Rahul “in this noble fight”.
“In the present circumstances, we stand together and reiterate that Rahul Gandhi is not alone and that millions of Congressmen and crores of people, irrespective of their political affiliations, are with him in this fight for truth and justice”, it stated.
According to the NPCC, Saturday’s silent protest was also to express solidarity with its national leader.
