Dimapur, June 19: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) joined the rest of the nation in observing the birthday of Rahul Gandhi, former AICC president. In keeping with the wishes of Rahul Gandhi not to celebrate his birthday due to COVID-19 pandemic and the tragic loss of soldiers in Galwan valley killed by Chinese Army, the NPCC observed the day by helping out those in distress due to the current pandemic situation.
A brief function was held at the residence of Dimapur DCC president which was attended by PCC officials and invited officials from DUCCCF, Dimapur Sadar GBs Association and Naga Womne Hoho Dimapur. Keeping in mind the strict social distancing policy, only some needy families were invited. Before starting the meeting, two minutes silence was observed in remembrance of the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending the nation, said a NPCC press release.
In the programme, 2000 relief food packets were distributed to needy people indifferent colonies according to list prepared in consultation with colony chairman’s and GBs, informed the release. (Page News Service)
