Dimapur, May 21: The NPCC Minority Department today paid homage and tribute to former Prime Minister, late Rajiv Gandhi on his 29th Death Anniversary. On this occasion, the minority department distributed refreshments and ration to few needy and poor people, who were stranded and faced problems in Dimapur due to the lockdown.
Members who helped in distributing the refreshments were Ajit Gogoi, Salikur Khan, Rajen Dey along with Minority Chairman and Secretary NPCC, Rajesh Kumar Sethi.
Sethi stated that this day is being remembered as “Balidan Diwas” as Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in a bomb blast at Sriperumbudur, Chennai, TamilNadu.
Remembering Rajiv, Sethi stated that he was the youngest and dynamic Prime Minister who had a strong vision for a strong, independent and self-reliant India.
Sethi mentioned how villages were empowered with constitution of Panchayati Raj all over India, that was the vision of a visionary leader. He also stated how under Rajiv’s able leadership higher education system upgraded and today we are getting the fruits.
