NPCC demands action against DyCM

Dimapur, April 11: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned the ‘irresponsible and blatant act’ of Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, who violated all norms at 31 Riphyim Old-III polling station under 37 Tyui Assembly constituency.
In a press release, the NPCC stated that Patton was seen wearing BJP’s scarf which is illegal on the polling day and later he was caught on camera entering polling station with 7-8 vote slips and proceeding to vote on EVM.
Such disregard and blatant violation of election rules by the Home Minister has brought disrepute to the office he holds, the NPCC added.
The NPCC informed that it has apprised the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland to take cognizance of this shameful act perpetrated by none other than the Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Nagaland.
“We firmly believe that Election Commission will maintain its constitutional sanctity by taking due action against the Home Minister under relevant sections of the law so that future precedence is not created by elected leaders to abuse their position and make a mockery of entire democratic process.
