NPCC condemns Hathras rape

Dimapur, October 3: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has condemned the rape and assault of 19-year old Hathras victim on September 14 and her subsequent forced cremation on September 29. It also condemned the conduct of UP Chief Minister and his police and administration’s handling of mourners and the entire case.
“The conduct has violated all forms of law, culture, customs and humanity. ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ is perhaps the slogan of Modi’s betrayal,” said NPCC president K Therie in a release.
The NPCC said the way Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were manhandled to deny them access to the mourning family has exposed the BJP’s intolerance towards established democratic practices.
“Our daughters have become prey of BJP Hyenas in UP. Perhaps it is their basic instinct. For them, women are objects of use and throw. They have no affection towards women,” Therie alleged.
“The police and administration’s conduct of intimidating the victim’s family members not allowing them to perform her last rites while they forcible cremated her body is just another example of BJP’s misuse of govt machinery to fulfill its biding,” he added. (Page News Service)
