Noklak gets its first 100% vaccinated village

Dimapur, July 15: Peshu Nyukya village under Thonoknyu sub-division of Noklak district became the first village in the district to register 100% vaccine coverage. Vaccination for all eligible persons above 18 years of age was completed on July 15.


A special intensified vaccination drive has been initiated by District Administration and Medical department of the Sub-division spearheaded by the District Task Force, Noklak. The milestone is expected to be a trendsetter for other villages amidst confusion and apprehension regarding the vaccine due to false information and rumours.
Meanwhile, in an effort to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and in view of positive cases reported in Noklak town areas, the District Task Force, Noklak, with the participation of sector chairman, GBs and other prominent personalities, conducted a special intensified testing camp in all the eleven sectors of Noklak town to identify those who may have contacted COVID-19 virus.
A total of 495 persons were tested as per house-to-house survey and six COVID-19 cases were identified.
