Dimapur, March 26: Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman Task Force for COVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha held a briefing with the media personnel’s at his official residence about the preparedness activities undertaken in the district.
Briefing the media persons the Dc said that as soon as the District Administration received directive from the Government the District Administration has already come up with all necessary arrangements and issued information for dissemination to the public.
He further stated that so far there is no shortage of essential commodities in the district which will last for around two weeks and necessary arrangement are also being made so that supply of essential commodities is not stopped. He also directed shop keepers not to sell goods above the MRP and no hording should be done and sell goods as per rate fixed by Wokha town Council.
Lotha also said, if situation demands 144 CRPC will be imposed in the district in order to maintain total lock down and will be relaxed only for 2 or 3 hours for people to buy essential commodities twice or thrice in a week. Emphasizing on taking preventive measures DC also urged public to maintain personal hygiene and social distancing. The DC also requested media fraternity to collect first hand information from the District Administration, Police and CMO before going for publication.
Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Imti Toshi who was also present during the briefing assured fullest cooperation to the District Administration in maintaining law and order in the district, where he also suggested that if curfew is imposed it will be more effective in maintain law and order.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, C.W.Tungoe presenting the latest update stated till yesterday 568 persons were screened and 81 people are kept under home quarantine and 58 bedded are kept reserved as isolation room at GHSS Boys hostel and said all doctors are stationed in their respective place of posting and monitoring round the clock. He also informed that all front line health workers are sensitized in all the blocks. He also informed the media persons that he has already apprised the status of shortage of Protective preventive equipments to higher authority for early supply for the district.
ADC & Administrator WTC, K.Mhathung Tsanglao, also said the Town Council is contemplating in going round on disinfesting public places to boost the morale of the people with the limited resources. To ensure that supply of essential commodities is not stopped proper c-ordination with Assam counterparts and other district especially Dimapur is also maintained he added.
