No regular classes till Govt give permission: NBSE

Dimapur, May 20: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has directed schools not to conduct normal/contact regular classes till the State Government gives permission. However, schools have been asked to resume online/digital mode/whatsapp to provide education of Class IX to XII from May 24.

In a notification issued today, the NBSE informed that the syllabus contents for Classes IX to XII is not reduced for 2021 session. The assessment for Class VIII will also cover the whole syllabus.
The board asked schools to plan their online classes in such a way that it conducts 4 sessions of 30 minutes to a maximum of 45 minutes in a day.
In rural areas where there is erratic connectivity or no online facility, schools have been asked to make arrangements to give our notes, worksheets and assignments to students at different intervals strictly maintaining COVID appropriate behavior. However, this activity should be carried out only after the total lockdown in the State is lifted.
The board also notified that delivery of education should be the focus of the online classes and not completion of the syllabus. “Teachers should not care only to finish the syllabus,” it said.
With the lockdown in the State where intra and inter district movement are restricted, NBSE advised teachers who are yet to return to their place of posting after the summer break to resume conduct of online mode of education from their present place of stay.
The NBSE also informed that conduct of Mid Term Examination for secondary section given in the Academic Calendar including the conduct of 1st terminal examination of Class VIII has been postponed. The board will issue separate guidelines for carrying out assessment and evaluation activities at a later date, in notified.

The board also asked schools to take necessary learning activities for lower classes so that children are not deprived of foundation literacy and ensure that learning takes place at home also.
The notification further informed teachers engaged for evaluation of HSLC & HSSLC examinations to keep in touch with the board till the evaluation works are completed. (Page News Service)
