NNC/FGN reaffirms stand on Naga sovereignty


Dimapur, August 12: The NNC/FGN has resolved to steadfastly maintain the dignity, integrity and sovereignty of the Naga nation in a general meeting held on August 11 at Urra Academy Hall, Kohima.
NNC president Adinno Phizo, FGN kedahge, Gen (Retd) Viyalie Metha and kilo kilonser, FGN, Shevohu Keyho spoke in the meeting, which deliberated on various issues including the international objective of the Naga nation, said a statement ‘Resolution and Reaffirmation’ issued to the media by the ministry of rali wali, FGN.
The meeting reaffirmed the Naga memorandum to Lord John Simon, British Statutory Commission on January 10, 1929; the formation of Naga National Council (NNC) on February 2, 1946; the Naga Independence declaration on 14th August, 1947 and the Voluntary Plebiscite of May 16, 1951.
The meeting further reaffirmed the Lakhuti Resolution of 27th April 1955; the proclamation of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) on 22nd March, 1956; and the international ceasefire agreement between the FGN and the Government of India on 6th September, 1964.
It affirmed that apart from these historical events, the NNC and FGN do not recognize all devised events, and that the NNC/FGN have always maintained non-violence and shall continue to do so.
