NNC clarifies


Dimapur, February 11: Reacting to the secretary/CAO NSCN (IM) Chakhesang Region claim that Adinno Phizo had summoned the Chakhesang Regional Council general meeting, the Chakhesang Regional Council, NNC has clarified that it had requested Adinno to address the meeting.
“Every region has the autonomy to exercise its own regional affairs which does not affect the nation,” said Velicho Rhakho, president, Chakhesang Regional Council, NNC.
On sabotaging the peace talk of NSCN (IM) and GoI, the NNC said it has no intention to interfere into such talk. It said the present peace talks of NSCN (IM) with GoI is only demanding something from GoI and it is up to GoI whether to grant their demand or not.
“The stand of NNC was clear that the NNC is not demanding anything from the Government of India but to leave Nagaland. The NNC is appealing to the UNO to recognize their sovereign right,” it said.
Regarding acceptance of Indian Constitution in the Shillong Accord, the NNC asked the secretary/CAO of NSCN (IM) to better first ask the Indian authorities if there was any valid record that the NNC accepted the Indian constitution through the Shillong Accord of 1975.
