NMA condemns Kathua, Umnao rape cases

Dimapur, April 16: The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has strongly condemned the heinous crimes against young girls in Kathua and Unnao as well as in other places of the country.
“The rising crimes against women including children in the country as well as in our own State of Nagaland is alarming and we calls for an end to such inhumane activities,” it said in a release.
Calling upon leaders of the respective governments of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Odisha to ensure the strictest punishment on all the perpetrators as per the law, the NMA also urged the Government of India to bring out a stricter law against the rape of children.
The NMA called upon all sections of society to end all forms of violence against women and children and ensure their right to peace, dignity and security. “We are in solidarity with all grieving families whose daughters have been violated,” it added.
