Dimapur, August 26: The Naga Mothers Association (NMA) has expressed shock and condemnation over the violent act committed on a minor girl by some women in Mokokchung on August 20 last, a video of which went viral on social media.
Strongly condemning the violence on a young girl by the three accused, two of whom are women, the NMA said moral policing and violent acts by taking the law into ones hands are criminal activities.
While lauding the prompt action of Mokokchung police in arresting the perpetrators, the NMA appealed for justice for the young woman for outraging her modesty, and demanded punishment for making the video which had gone viral as per the law.
The NMA also appealed to the Nagaland State Child Rights Commission and the Nagaland Commission for Women to do necessary inquiry so that justice prevail and also provide counseling and proper rehabilitation for the victim.
