NLA replies to NPF on JLF meeting

Dimapur, October 30: Deputy Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer today said that he has not received any official intimation from the office of the Chief Minister, on the desire to represent the JLF/PWC on the Naga political issue before Central Government.
He said as far as the office of the Speaker/Deputy Speaker is concerned, the resolution passed by the JLF on August 7, 2019 stands reiterated.
Replying to the clarification sought by the Opposition NPF in regards to the postponement of JLF meeting, the Deputy Speaker stated that the last JLF meeting which was supposed to be convened on October 4 at Rhododendron Hall, Chumukedima was postponed till further notice at the last minute on the suggestion of the Governor of Nagaland as he had fixed a meeting with the legislators from the NPF party on the same dated.
The Deputy Speaker stated that two dated, 7th October 2019 or 9th October 2019 were proposed for the JLF meeting, which was confirmed in the negative since NPF legislators were due to participate in the reorganization of the NPF party in Arunachal Pradesh. Besides, the Speaker/Deputy Speaker’s office was informed that Chief Minister and some of the Cabinet Ministers had to be away in Delhi for official work.
Longkumer, however, placed on record the invaluable support and cooperation extended by the members of Opposition bench towards the Naga political issue either in the JLF platform or in discussion of public importance in the Assembly. (Page News Service)
