NLA makes obituary references


Dimapur, January 17: Obituary references were made on the passing away of five former members in the Assembly sessions on Friday.
On the passing away of NLA Speaker, Vikho-o Yhoshü, chief minister Neiphiu Rio said, “On his death the Naga community has lost a tall and selfless leader who always reach out to the people. His simplicity and humbleness will be remembered. We have lost a dear colleague who led this House in an exemplary manner.”
On the death of T Torechu, the Speaker-in-charge Sharingain Longkumer said, “On his death, the Nagas have lost a committed leader who had dedicated his life for the service of the people.”
On the passing away of N Theyo, the Speaker-in-charge said, “On his death the Naga community has lost a humble leader whose absence will be difficult to replace.”
On Lutjakai Kuki, the Speaker-in-charge stated that his sincere and extensive contribution to the citizens of Nagaland was duly recognised and honoured on the 50th year of Nagaland statehood celebration at Kisama on December 1, 2013.
On Z Katiry, Sharingain Longkumer said, “He was a dynamic leader and on his death, the State has lost a statesman and the vacuum left will be hard to fill.” (Page News Service)
