Niuland GBs

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 5: Three GBs associations under Niuland District have proposed new road connectivity from Zubza Bridge to Rengmapani (14 km ) via Niuland town and tourism related road to Ghokuto village, 6 km from Nihoku EAC Hq junction.
In a joint memorandum to Minister for PWD (R&B), Kaito Aye, the three associations, comprising of 5 areas and 109 villages, said road connectivity from Zubza Bridge to Rengmapani via Niuland town needs urgent attention for its high economic importance and interstate connectivity to Assam.
“…better road connectivity in the new district would improve the welfare of the public by creating and encouraging new investment in infrastructure from outside, creating new opportunities and much needed ecosystem for overall growth so that the aspirations of the younger generation and employment opportunities are generated in the private sector”, it said.
The memorandum appreciated the ongoing good quality work from 4th Mile Jail junction to Zubza Bridge (21.89 km), easing vehicular movements. It, however, requested inclusion of drainage, which was not there in the initial DPR in the entire stretch and additional retaining walls/culverts in crucial areas.
