Nikhekhu village celebrates Tuluni


Dimapur, July 8: Nikhekhu villagers observed Tuluni festival with pomp and gaiety as villagers indulged in various cultural events at programme held this afternoon at village ground to mark the culmination of the weeklong festival.
Aheto Yepthomi, personal secretary to G. Kaito Aye, Minister Agriculture and Co-operation represented the minister on the occasion as Tuluni Father as Kaito could not grace the programme owing to official engagements.
Aheto conveyed Kaito’s festival greetings to the villagers. Speaking on behalf of the minister, Aheto called upon the villagers to uphold the rich and diverse cultural heritage of forefathers. And also to imbibe peace and unity among the people adding that peace and unity leads to all round development of a society.
S. Vihuto Yepthomi, president Western Sumi Kukami Hoho, Tokuho Suhoi Neho, president, Dimapur District GBs Association and G. Shikavi Zhimomi, president Ato Area GBs Association were among others who joined the celebrations.
Leaders and elders of neighbouring villages were also invited to the event.
Viyito, pastor, Nikhekhu village Baptist Church said the invocation prayer for the cultural gala. Isawoto Zhimomi, village chief welcomed the dignitaries. V. Victor, chairman CBC proposed vote of thanks and Ilito, associate pastor pronounced the benediction. Associate pastors Khelito and Ayeto conducted the programme. (Page News Service)
