Night curfew reinforced in Assam-Nagaland border

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 7: The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the 5 km belt of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland for 60 days, with effect from October 11.
In an order, the ADM stated that the night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam-Nagaland border. Movement of any person/group of persons/any vehicular traffic has been prohibited during the period of night curfew.
However, Magistrates, security personnel of the army/CRPF/police, and civil officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
