NIA summons Dr Benjongliba Aier

Kohima, June 15: Another senior Naga is in the net of National Investigation Agency (NIA) over alleged payment of fund to militants.
The NIA which has been investigating into the nexus between the militants and the officials has served a letter to former Minister and Ex-Parliamentary Secretary (Agriculture), Dr Benjongliba Aier to appear before the Agency on June 18 at New Delhi for questioning. The letter was issued on behalf of the NIA by Deputy Superintendent of Police (CIO), NIA New Delhi, Jasveer Singh on June 12, 2018.
“Whereas it appears that you are acquainted with the circumstances of the case NIA Crime no-01/2016/NIA/GUW (Extortion in Nagaland), which i am investigating under Chapter XII of the Code of Criminal Procedure, you are hereby required to attend before me on 18-06-2018 at 1030 hrs at NIA HQ, Opposite CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi for the purpose of answering certain question relating to the matter under investigation without fail and if necessary statement and specimens of handwritings/signatures thereafter relating to NIA crime no 01/2016/NIA/GUW” the summon letter stated.
Of late several Naga officials have been picked up by the NIA for their allegedly funding the outfits in the State.
