NIA raid houses of  NSCN (IM) leaders

Dimapur, March 5: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted searches in two places at Dimapur – in the houses of absconding accused Absolom alias Rockwang Tangkhul, ‘ss’ major general of NSCN (IM) and James Kiwang, another leader of NSCN-IM.
Two Quardrocopter drones, 14 rounds of .32 ammunition, digital devices including 22 mobile phones, 3 laptops, 1 tab, 1 Apple Mackbook, 1 pen drive, 2 memory cards, CDs and a some documents related to monetary transactions were seized from the two places.
A press release issued by NIA said on June 10, 2019, the NIA re-registered a case RC-03/2019/NIA-GUW arising out of FIR No. 25/2019 dated 21.05.2019 u/s 302, 307 & 34 of IPC, 25 (1B)(a), 27 of Arms Act and Sections 10&18 of UA (P) Act, PS Khonsa, District Tirap of the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The case is related to ambush on convoy of MLA Khonsa, Tirong Aboh by “terrorist gang” of NSCN-IM near Pansum Thong village, PS Khonsa, District Tirap, Arunachal Pradesh.
In the ambush, 11 persons including the MLA had died at the spot and 3 persons were injured. NIA has filed charge sheet against 4 accused – Luckin Mashangva, Jaikishan Sharma, Yangte Josaham and Napong Jenpi in the Special NIA Court, Yupia on January 27 this year and they are in judicial custody in Itanagar Jail.
Investigation in the case revealed that members of NSCN(IM) led by ‘ss’ Major General Absolom and James Kiwang along with others, in pursuance of the conspiracy, executed the terrorist act of killing MLA Khonsa and others, the NIA stated adding further investigation in the case is on.
