Dimapur, May 27: Government registered NGOs held its 1st General meeting in NEISSR conference hall on May 25 with the motive to form Nagaland NGO Forum in order to strengthen the member skills in mobilizing support for an issue, a useful skill when advocating with opinion leaders, policy makers and the public.
It was a long felt need to formulate an NGO Forum in Nagaland for the Government Registered NGOs between different Non-Governmental Organizations working in different developmental sectors in Nagaland.
After number of NGOs consultative meeting held with the initiative of NGO Forum Interim Body, with the consent of number of Government Registered NGOs. The Forum was formed with a guideline to support the Organization’s vision, mission and values. It will provide a community platform for NGOs in their diverse domain, active in any part of Nagaland and to contribute to governance and development process in Nagaland.
The office bearers of the Forum are Dr Hesheto Chishi, Director, Indigenous Cultural Society-chairman; Rhuletsu, IBAPWO, Kiphire-vice chairman; Ainla Pongen-general secretary; Sr Pramila, Director ACID-finance secretary; Jess T Murry-joint finance secretary; Kashito Kiba, MD Pheto Music Association-Treasurer; Meren and D Adani-Information Secretary.
