Dimapur, February 10: The NFHRCC along with the concerned department led by EE PWD (R&B), contractor, apex tribal hohos and local CSOs visited the Doyang Bridge construction site at Governor’s camp, Liphanyan to inspect the latest status and progress of the project.
After deliberations and discussions on the ongoing project, the visiting team re-endorsed the February 5 resolution that the Doyang Bridge construction at Liphanyan should be completed within 2021. It also endorsed the departmental technical report that so far 70.66% of the work was already completed.
The NFHRCC also reaffirmed its resolution that any issues /clarification in regards to the Foothills Road construction shall be made known and clarified through the knowledge of tribal committee members for any redressals and necessary action.
It also resolved that the NFHRCC shall take immediate steps for the identifying the “Chargeable Head ” for the work with the Government. It reaffirmed its earlier resolutions that the release of bills to the contractor will be based on fulfillment of the work progress and completion.
The NFHRCC also resolved to appeal to all elected MLAs to participate in a positive and constructive debate with regards to the Foothills Road progression.
The team further reaffirmed its earlier resolution to restrict collection of stone boulders/chips within the limit of 1 Kilometre on both sides of the bridge construction, including both upstream and down streams. In this regards, it resolved to entrust the Lotha Hoho to enforce the same.
The delegation meanwhile acknowledged the village council of New Koro village for providing lunch and snacks to the visiting team.
