New traffic regulation in Dimapur from June 30

Dimapur, June 26: Dimapur police will enforce new traffic regulation for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur town and NH-29 till Chumoukedima town from June 30 to July 30.
In an order issued today, Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetseo, IPS said all car passes issued by Dimapur Police ‘On COVID-19 Duty’ shall be invalid from June 28 onwards.
Regarding implementation of odd-even system, police said only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (eg. 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9) will be allowed to ply every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, only vehicles with registration number en ding with even numbers (eg. 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) will be allowed to ply.
The restriction will not be enforced on Sundays.
The category under essential services as notified earlier will be exempted. Further government servants on bonafide Government duties and vehicles involved in providing essential services/ involved in COVID-19 related duties will also be exempted from the purview of the restriction on production of relevant documents and valid ID proof. Two wheelers shall also be exempted from the traffic restriction.
All heavy vehicles, except those engaged in the four lane construction work with valid permit will be restricted from plying within the town area and highway from 9 am to 3 pm.
The CP said violation of the order will be penalized and appealed to all citizens to cooperate in the interest of public safety. (Page News Service)
