New India@75: Winners of online competition awarded

Dimapur, October 20: The award ceremony of the online competition of New India@75 awareness on HIV, TB and Blood Donation for selected schools and colleges under Kohima district was held today in the DC’s conference hall Kohima.
Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS congratulating the winners of the online competition lauded the efforts and contributions made by the students in the competition. He said that the ideas and thoughts on various themes brought out by the students would go a long way in the fight against the health issues. He encouraged them to continue with the spirit of participation and competition in their future academic career.

DC also expressed his gratitude to the participating schools and colleges for taking importance of the New India@75 programme and its activities. He said that under this programme, various activities have been initiated with an aims to educate and improve the health sector, where concerted efforts from all section is required.
The result of the online competition conducted amongst the 6 selected schools and colleges each on the given 4 concepts are as follows:
On ‘Paint your thought’: 1st – Khaoshai and Chio from Government High School Chandmari; 2nd – P. Atong Beshang and Amos Kent from Government High School Chandmari; 3rd – Bendangakum from Holy Family Hr. Sec. School; Consolation prize – C. Litong Phom from Modern Hr. Sec. School.
‘Voice your thought’: 1st – Elozini Jacinta from Holy Family Hr. Sec. School; 2nd – Shojeih Chemdok and 3rd – Y. Maolem Konyak, both from Government High School Chandmari.
‘Film your thought on HIV’: Ram Kumar Updhaya, Huralu Dzudo and Sokumla M Chang all from Kohima Science College bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Meguozonuo Martha from Kohima Science College won the 1st prize on the concept of ‘Film your thought on TB’. On ‘Film your thought on Blood Donation’ Limanukshi Pongen, Philomina Rutsa and Meguozonuo Martha, all from Kohima Science College won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
On ‘Publicize your thought on HIV’, Nyimang Naro from Baptist College won the 1st prize while Pemayile Ndang from Sazolie College and Phongwang E. Konyak from Japfu Christian College won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.

On ‘ Publicize your thought on TB’, 1st – Yingdila T. Sangtam from Baptist College while Khampei T. Konyak and H. Viputo Yeptho, both from Kohima Science College bagged the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
On the concept of ‘Publicise your thought on Blood Donation’, Phongwang E. Konyak from Japfu Christian College won the 1st prize while Neingunuo Solo from Baptist College won the 2nd prize and Anulu Rhakho from Kohima Science College won the 3rd prize.
All the winners were awarded cash prize along with certificate. Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo and District TB Officer Kohima, Dr. Akaba Jamir along with other committee members and parents of the winning students were present during the award ceremony.
