New building of NPF Dimapur inaugurated

Dimapur, July 25: President of Naga People’s Front (NPF), Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu today inaugurated new building of NPF Dimapur Division at Landmark Colony.
The building has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 32.45 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, the NPF President lauded the team spirit of the party men and women and displaying a high sense of belongingness, even though the NPF is in opposition today.
“For man like me, Opposition is nothing new, but not pleasant,” he said while calling up the party workers to prove their integrity, their commitment towards the people and state.
Asking the workers to be contended with whatever they have, Shurhozelie urged them to play their part well. “It goes to measure your integrity and leadership,” he added.
Admitting that the PDA Government is going strong in the state, he said he was proud to see the NPF party leaders remaining calm, unmoved. “That is the beauty,” he added.
Stating that the party was born when Nagaland was on fire, he said the party was born for a purpose and the purpose is to bring about peace in Nagaland. He said peace can be brought about through a political settlement, so “we are supporting the peace process.”
He said, “In this game, we are not the main players, but the Government of India and the NPGs…We are facilitators only.”
The veteran politician said that many regional parties came and disappeared in Nagaland, similarly, the NDPP which is going strong today will face the same fate. “We will survive because we have a purpose.”
He also told the party workers not to be discouraged since they are in opposition. “We will have long term plans and see that it forms the government next time,” he assured.
NPF Secretary General and Rajya Sabha MP, K G Kenye said that NPF is the grand old regional party in the Northeast and it is second only to DMK, it “we see the life and age of political parties.”
He said NPF is proud to be the 2nd largest regional party in the country.
The Secretary General also talk about the bitter days of the NPF when there was internal problems, but said they have forgiven all those involved in the act.
He also reiterated the commitment of the NPF to solve the Naga political problem
MLA Azo Neinu, former Secretary General Chubatemjen and Central vice president, Pusazo Luruo also spoke on the occasion. (Page News Service)
