Nagaland News

KOHIMA, MAY 6: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), while expressing concern over stranded people in violence-torn Manipur State, today urged the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MCA) to immediately intervene in evacuating them.
NESO is deeply perturbed at the prevailing situation in Manipur which has left many people from other States stranded and in need of immediate evacuation, said NESO secretary general Mutsikhoyo Yhobu in an open letter to the MCA.
In light of the prevalent law and order situation in Manipur wherein regular air services to and from the State has been disturbed, Yhobu appealed to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for immediate intervention to schedule chartered flights for the evacuation process of people to their respective home States.
Further, maintaining that it is learnt that many people have lost their documents during the ongoing arson and violence, NESO appealed to the authorities concerned to sympathize with the genuine citizens while considering other means of identification.
