NEISSR organizes entrepreneurship skill development programme

Dimapur, March 15: North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) held an inaugural event on Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme on March 14 at Peace Centre, Chümoukedima.
A press release informed that the programme aims to build a cadre of entrepreneurs, inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship among social workers to further enhance employability skills.
Fr. Robin Thomas, Assistant Professor, spoke on “Entrepreneurship and its relevance in 21st century” and stated that entrepreneurship can reduce poverty and inequality.
He said that progressive improvements in sustainable livelihoods are a pressing challenge faced at a global level. He also mentioned that there are many flourishing social entrepreneurship and emerging start-ups to help build the gap in the society.
A short speech was delivered by PA Thomas, Senior trainer of ESDP, Nagaland, on the introduction to Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP). He urged everyone have an entrepreneurial mindset.
Meanwhile, the students of NEISSR MSW-? semester, ventured on a 10-day rural camp to two different villages in Zunheboto District: Yezami and Rotomi. The purpose of the rural camp was to learn and understand the lifestyle of the community people, their needs and problems, it stated.
