Dimapur, May 26: The NEFIP, a conglomerate of CSOs for the protection of endangered rights of the marginalized indigenous people of North East, has expressed shock over killing of TirongAboh, MLA of Khonsa West Assembly, his son Longgem and 9 others on May 21.
“Differences we may have, weaknesses one may have, faults one may have committed, but resorting to such senseless violence cannot be, and should not be, a way to address any of such issues. For the communities which have been confronting the dangerous prospects of annihilation in NE, such acts will only jeopardize our own capacity to build bridges, and thereby weakening the solidarity, amongst the threatened indigenous communities of the region,” it said.
Condemning the killing TirongAboh, his son and nine others, the NEFIP extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for departed souls to rest in peace.
