Dimapur, February 27: NDWM Nagaland Region commemorated Hope Day in Assisi Auditorium on Saturday on the theme, “Rebuilding Hope and Confidence”.
In her welcome address, Sr Pramila, Coordinator NDWM Nagaland Region expressed that hope day is celebrated every year to break the silence and voice out against gender disparity, gender inequality and choice between boy and girl. It is a day to become voice to the voiceless, hope to the hopeless, love to the loveless and to light a candle of hope and confidence to all, she said adding it is also a day to make them visible part of the society.
She said these child participation groups are mainly to create awareness on the rights of the children, make them to realize the right to participation is also important, help them identify the hidden potential, lobby for their rights, get the knowledge on different departments who are working for the rights of the children and also to get to know legal provision that are available.
Resource person Adv. Priya Shyam expressed that the pandemic which has shattered hope and confidence cannot be build by others but by individuals.
There were 220 participants along with their parents.
