NDPP on verge of de-registration by ECI, claims NPF

Dimapur, June 18: The Naga People’s Frond (NPF) has claimed that de-registration of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) by the Election Commission of India (ECI) is imminent with the NDPP finding it difficult to defend its position.
The NDPP had prayed for time extension from the ECI, claimed the NPF in a press release.
Against this backdrop, the NPF alleged that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has already initiated political discussion with JD-U leader and Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar for merger of his NDPP party with the JD-U.
“Apparently, knowing their weak positions in the court of ECI, Rio has already initiated political discussion with the JDU Supremo, Nitish Kumar – maybe again looking for merger with JDU,” it claimed.
The NPF said it is not interested at all to intervene or interfere into the NDPP internal party mess, but said it only hopes that “those innocent NDPP MLAs does not suffer in the leadership of Rio and his cohorts as the de-registrations of the NDPP is imminent for the matter is already at the hands of the ECI court and at the final stage.”
Meanwhile the NPF has again demanded clear clarification on the statements made by the Chief Minister of Naga integration and the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. The NPF said it will not allow the Government of the day to play with the interest of the Naga people.
On the NDPP-CMO-Media Cell claimed that the NPF under the leadership of TR Zeliang had not passed any resolutions on the issue of Naga integration, the NPF reminded that the 9th session of the 12th House held from July 21 to 27 2015 under Speaker Chotisü Sazo has allotted two days for discussions on Naga integrations and political issues and adopted 5 resolutions, out of which resolution No. 1 was dwelt on Naga integration.
