NDPP CYO conducts cleanliness drive in Kohima

Kohima, November 25: The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party Central Youth Wing (NDPP CYO) today conducted a cleanliness drive in Kohima on the theme “Go Zero Waste for Healthy Lifestyle”.
The kick off programme was held at Old MLA Hostel Junction with Advisor for Transport and Technically Education and NDPP Legislator i/c of CYO, Temjenmenba as the special guest in presence of MLA of Kohima Town Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso and former MLA Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire.
In his address, Temjenmenba said the NDPP has provided a stable government because of which better ambience is being experienced in the state.
NDPP government is the need of the hour for the people of Nagaland as it has both mature and young politicians for experienced political opinions and also for young visions for development and progress, he said.
He affirmed that the NDPP government under Chief minister Neiphiu Rio is concentrating on the core competence and the available resources in order to take the state to a better future.
He lauded the NDPP youth for conducting the social work saying that it is a noble service as cleanliness is next to godliness. He also appealed to them to continue sensitizing the people so that it is maintained on a daily basis.
Dr Tseilhoutuo and Dr Nicky also exhorted the gathering.
The officials and volunteers of NDPP CYP were divided into the six constituencies of Kohima district and demarcated with cleanliness areas as follows: 8 Western Angami A/C – Para Medical junction via Naga Bazar & Tinpatti; 9 Kohima Town A/C – Tinpatti via Razhü Point-D. Block, DC Road-Viliethie complex; 10 Northern Angami-I A/C – Billy Graham Road via DBS-Tinpatti junction; 11 Northern Angami-II A/C – High School Junction-NDPP Head Office; 14 Southern Angami-I A/C – BOC (PHQ Junction) to Naga Hospital and 15 Southern Angami-II A/C – Lerie (CRPF Camp) – PHQ Junction while the Kohima Region Youth Office bearers were given charge of Tinpatti to High School.
NDPP CYO president Imchen informed that 40-50 volunteers from each constituency carried out the cleanliness drive in the demarcated area. He also thanked the Kohima Municipal Council for providing dumper trucks to clear the collected waste from the different locations.
Cleanliness should not be a one time affair but it should be a responsibility of all, he said while affirming that NDPP youth has started the mission to spread awareness among the people.
On the occasion, the NDPP CYO officials along with Advisor Temjenmenba donated dustbins to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.
