Dimapur, January 26: The ruling NDPP has congratulated former Nagaland Chief Minister and former Governor of Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha Dr SC Jamir on being awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan on the occasion of 71st Republic Day.
“Dr Jamir’s concern for our people and his political foresight is legendary, and the very fact that he is the sole surviving signatory of the 16-point Agreement which has brought the people of Nagaland thus far speaks volumes about the far-sightedness he had even when he was young,” said NDPP president Chingwang Konyak in a communiqué.
“I have had the exquisite pleasure and privilege to have been closely associated with Dr. Jamir in various capacities in our political journey together and I must say I am one person hugely impressed by his personality and statesmanship.”
The rank and file of the NDPP congratulated SC Jamir on the occasion and prayed to the Almighty to grant him good health, long life and eternal wisdom so that he continues to be the pride of the Naga people, a guide to a better future and also bring more laurels to our people.
