State BJP affirms to uphold pre-poll alliance with NDPP

Kohima, September 2: Union Minister of State for Ministry of External Affairs, V. Muralidharan has asserted that the NDA Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very keen to bring the decades old Naga issue to a logical conclusion.
The Union MoS said this while addressing the Nagaland State BJP Unit’s first virtual meeting of its executive for the tenure 2020-2023 held at The Heritage here on August 29, said a delayed release issued by the party here on Wednesday.
“The Naga political issue is at a very crucial juncture, and that the NDA Government led by the Prime Minister Modi, National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister and Chairperson of the NDA Amit Shah are very keen to bring the decades old Naga issue to a logical conclusion”, he said while speaking on the Naga political issue.
He also highlighted some ‘landmark achievements’ and progress under the leadership of Modi which include the historic signing of the Framework Agreement on 3rd August 2015 between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM and also the agreement signed with the Naga National Political Group (NNPG) on 17th November 2017.
Further, he appreciated the State BJP President Temjen Imna Along for leading the way in the battle against COVID-19, and efficiently dealing with the pandemic situation in Nagaland, along with all the BJP karyakatas.
He called upon the Nagaland State BJP Unit to join hands and stay united to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and National BJP president.
National general secretary and North East in-charge, Ram Madhav addressing the second session asserted that Nagaland State BJP has come a long way from being branded as ‘Non-Naga’, ‘Anti-Christian Party’, ‘Hindu party’, etc to becoming a partner in the ruling coalition PDA Government with 12 MLAs in the present 13th State Assembly, with a strong party network across the State.
Madhav said it is the courage and toil of the karyakatas in the past that has brought forth the Nagaland BJP to its present state.
“The Nagaland BJP should dedicate itself towards fulfilling the welfare and well being of the people of Nagaland; and raise above internal challenges that comes naturally when a party grows in strength,” he said while conveying best wishes to the new team.
Meanwhile, the State BJP adopting political resolution reaffirmed its stand towards realizing an early political solution to the Naga Political issue.
“The party stands for an early solution for the Naga Political Issue; which is inclusive, acceptable and honourable, keeping in mind the history and political rights of the people,” it resolved.
Asserting that the talks have made tremendous strides in recent years, the BJP Nagaland resolved to place on record the ‘unreserved appreciation’ to the parties involved in the talks, including Government of India, NSCN (IM) and Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups for their sincerity in bringing the peace process thus far.
It also reaffirmed that the PDA Government, of which the BJP is an integral partner, plays the role of an active facilitator to the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiations.
The BJP Nagaland placed on record its utmost appreciation to the negotiation parties in the quest for lasting peace and all-round development of the Naga people. It also resolved to continue its fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the State and the country in every possible way as #IndiaFightsCorona.
It claimed that till date the BJP legislatures and Karyakartas have been working tirelessly to fight this pandemic which has reached every corner of the country.
The party shall continue to follow the pragmatic vision of Prime Minister Modi towards Aatma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) by actively promoting local manufacturing of various essential products for self-reliant in fighting this pandemic, it resolved.
The State BJP also resolved to stand with the commitment of a pre-poll alliance of the PDA with the National Democratic Progressive Party.
The BJP Nagaland State also affirmed to continue to stand faithfully committed to uphold the party principles and ideologies; and bring all round development, peace and prosperity for the people of Nagaland by restructuring its stand and vision for a self reliant Nagaland under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi and National President J.P Nadda.
Earlier, in his presidential address, State BJP President Temjen Imna Along asserted that Nagaland State BJP have come a long way and appreciated the former State BJP President Visazolie Lhounyu for his great leadership in bringing BJP Nagaland thus far despite all difficulties.
