Dimapur, March 26: The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has appreciated the steps taken by the district administration, police and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) here in the state’s capital.
Meanwhile, the AYO also lauded the state government for responding positively in taking all possible measures on its part.
Till March 26, not even a single positive case has been reported in the state; however, that should not allow any room for complacency, it said.
The AYO appealed to all the citizens to strictly adhere to the directives laid down by the state government, which has been issued in the larger interest of the public.
The Organization said it is extremely troubled by the behaviour of some irresponsible citizens who chose to ignore the directives, and are seen loitering around and in the process endangering the lives of other people and their own. Any lackadaisical attitude at this hour can be too costly for the state and the people of Nagaland, it added
Meanwhile, the AYO also expressed its sincere appreciation to all the villages/wards/colonies under Kohima district for responding positively against this pandemic. Social distancing is one major concern to stay away from the virus. Therefore, the AYO urged upon all concerned villages/wards to strictly adhere to this directive.
It further appreciated those villages/wards which have laid down strict rules on social distancing and quarantine. Taking positive steps on prevention is the need of the hour, and this will be widely appreciated too. It expressed happiness that many villages have set up quarantine centres for its citizens who have come from outside.
If there is any village/ward which is still maintaining complacency, the AYO requested them to stand up and act accordingly. (Page News Service)
