NCD to allow burials at new Naga cemetery

Dimapur, January 27: The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has decided to open burial at the New Naga Cemetery site, while also reaffirming its earlier resolution for the model of uniform burial design.
This was resolved in a NCD councilors meeting held on Wednesday at the council conference hall here.
The NCD decided that the width and breadth of each burial will be 3×7 foot, the depth of the burial should be 5 feet from the ground level, tomb construction shall be allowed only up to 1feet above the ground level (uniform), each tomb (burial) will have an interval distance of 1 feet from both sides, compulsory 1 feet plaster on surrounding tomb and tombstone shall be 2×1½ feet.
The meeting also discussed celebration of 75 anniversary of NCD.
Earlier the meeting was presided over by Etsungmomo Kikon, vice-president (Adm). Out of 30 councilors, 6 councilors were granted leave on health ground and other unavoidable case while 22 councilors attended the meeting, informed a NCD release. (Page News Service)
