
Dimapur, December 7: The Naga Council Dimapur today discussed the December 4 incident where 14 innocent civilians were killed and dozens injured by the Indian Armed Forces at Oting village in Mon district.
In a meeting held today, the Konyak Union officials and leaders highlighted the sequence of the events about December 4 killings.
The meeting decided to write a memorandum to the Governor of Nagaland to repeal the draconian AFSPA 1958 law from the state of Nagaland immediately.
It also decided to write a representation to the Chief Minister of Nagaland to include independent and eminent person(s) in the investigation of the case; to expedite the investigation; to repeal AFSPA from Nagaland and to remove the Name/Tag “Friends of the Hill People” utilized by the Assam Rifles in Nagaland.
The meeting further decided to support the Konyak Union till all the demands are made.
It was further informed that the next meeting will be held in due course of time.
