Dimapur, November 9: The 1 Nagaland (G) Bn NCC under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima commenced a 10 days long annual training camp at St Joseph College, Jakhama from November 8. A total of 300 NCC girl cadets from various institutes located in all districts of Nagaland, along with ANOs and PI staff of the unit are attending the camp.
The aim of NCC annual training camps is to impart collective training to NCC cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership. During the camp the main emphasis will be to develop qualities of character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship, ideals of selfless service thus having a bearing on all round development of cadets’ personality. They will not only be trained in weapon handling, drill and military subject but also be trained in national integration and other nation building and social service activities like Swatch Bharat Abhiyan.
Col Rajeev Kumar, Camp Commandant, Annual Training Camp informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on health and hygiene, drug abuse, HIV AIDS, vector borne diseases and disaster management are also being conducted. A weapon display by TA Battalion and career counseling by officers from Assam Rifles Battalion from Kohima is also planned during the camp. (Page News Service)
