NCC cadets observe Int’l Literacy Day


Dimapur, September 9: NCC cadets of Peren Government College, Peren under the aegis of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC, celebrated International of Literacy Day on September 8 by creating awareness amongst people of Peren District on the importance of being literate in today’s digital era.
The cadets visited villages of Peletkie, Kepeuzang and Peren Town to sensitise the inhabitants with good reasons to be literate and contribute towards social and human development. They also targeted children to develop interest towards education.
Later in the day Lt CH Kanga Andrew, Associate NCC Officer of Government College Peren addressed the villager of Peletkie village. The cadets carried out banner march in Peren Town and neighbouring villages.
NCC Cadets of Nagaland have been shouldering the responsibility of nation building through various initiatives and today’s drive was one such attempt to bring about a change in the neighbourhood, said a NCC release. (Page News Service)
