Dimapur, October 29: Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) has informed all the devotees of Chhath Puja Mahaparv that due to Covid-19 pandemic situation all across the country, it would not be able to celebrate the festival at the banks of River Dhansiri, Dimapur this year.
The NBS appealed to the devotees to observe/celebrate the Chhath Puja at their respective homes/premises by maintaining standard operating procedures issued by the Government.
This year the Chhata Festival will be celebrated from November 18 to 21; the last two days the devotees celebrate at the bank of river Dhansiri. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it would not be possible to celebrate the festival as previous years, the NBS stated.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj appealed to everyone to give up firecrackers during the occasion as well as during the festival of lights, Deepawali and make it soundless and smoke-free.
“Let us also pray for the speedy recovery of people who are suffering from Covid-19,” it said and wished
the people of Nagaland, a Happy Deepawali and Happy Chhath. (Page News Service)
