Dimapur, May 7: The Naga Business Association Kohima (NBAK) has appealed to the state Government to roll back the Covid-19 cess on petrol and diesel.
It appealed to the government to consider the plight of Naga business community who have lost huge inventories as a result of the lockdown.
Stating that many local business community has been surviving without any source of income during the lockdown period, the NBAK urged the government to initiate necessary measures to assist thousands of local businessmen and businesswomen in Kohima.
It said government e-permit would be good option to prevent spread of disease and crowd gathering at government offices.
It further appealed to the government to consider relaxation of loan criteria and direct all nationalized banks who are operating in Nagaland for availing business loans by the Naga entrepreneurs. It also sid the government should consult Naga business community experts and its organizations to create a vibrant economic atmosphere in the state considering the necessary money circulation within the state.
While appreciating some of the house owners for their good gesture by exempting monthly rentals to business community, the Association appealed to others to consider for the welfare of the business community who are still struggling for their survival during the lockdown period.
It also appealed to all Naga intellectual community to support the Naga entrepreneurs for revival of the state economy and for the well being of generations to come.
Meanwhile, the NBAK appreciated the frontline workers, different government and private agencies, civil organizations who have been tirelessly working for the welfare of its citizens in the state. (Page News Service)
